Employment Law
Through a special alliance formed between MT Stuart & Company and Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley & Jennet, chamber members will benefit from unparalleled professionalism and expertise in the field of employment law at greatly reduced rates.
Employers in California are required to comply with the FEHA,
ADA, ADEA, EPPA, OSHA, CFRA, FMLA, PDL Title VII and numerous
other laws including the FLSA and California Labor Code laws
governing wage and hour issues. SCV employers must comply with
the State's Fair Employment and Housing Act, which covers any
company with 5 or more full or part-time employees. This means
almost every business in the SCV can be held liable to any
employee who is harassed by a supervisor because of sex, race,
national origin or disability, even if the owner did not know
anything about the harassment. Employers also need protection
from class actions and individual suits based on violations of
our wage and hour laws
Unless a company has already hired a competent human resource
professional, or has retained an experienced labor lawyer to
evaluate its employment policies, it may already be faced with
the significant risk. What follows is a series of reviews or
audits tailored by Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley & Jennet to the needs
of SCV business owners so that each can determine if a problem
exists, and how compliance can be achieved so as to minimize or
remove such risks. You will note that the pricing is scalable
and takes into account the number of people employed.
